Cute Farmer was born from curiosity — a love of learning how things are made and a desire to better understand what we put on our bodies every day.

What started as learning to make tallow for my own home quickly became something much deeper. As I studied the rendering process, ingredients, and how natural materials behave, it opened my eyes to how disconnected modern skincare has become from nature. I began asking bigger questions about industrial processing, hidden contaminants, and how the products we use every day may matter more than we realize.

I started Cute Farmer Tallow out of a desire to create something truly clean and nourishing for my own family.

That journey led me here: creating simple, carefully crafted skincare made as close to nature as possible.

Every product at Cute Farmer is made by hand by me — from rendering and purifying the tallow to formulating, labeling, packing orders, maintaining my website, and running my shop. Right now, I wear every hat in this little company, and I truly love the process. There’s something calming and deeply satisfying about creating products slowly and intentionally.

I’m passionate about teaching my children the importance of caring for our bodies and being thoughtful about what we put on and in them — from skincare and food to the water we drink and the air we breathe.

I also love traveling, experiencing other cultures, and learning how people around the world have traditionally cared for themselves using what nature provides. That ongoing journey keeps inspiring me to simplify, question modern shortcuts, and return to what works.

Not all tallow is created equal.

As I looked into other “natural” and “organic” tallow products, I realized that many still rely on overly processed ingredients that lose much of their original benefit. I make my tallow in small batches here in the Midwest, using high-quality fat from organically raised, grass-fed cows sourced from local farmers in Pecatonica, IL.

Because it comes from grass-fed animals, my tallow is naturally higher in omega-3 fatty acids. These essential fats help support the skin barrier, calm irritation, and keep skin balanced and resilient. It’s one of the reasons I care so deeply about how my ingredients are sourced—something that matters to me personally as I make each batch by hand.

Tallow is remarkably similar to the oils your skin produces, which allows it to absorb easily and nourish deeply without clogging pores. It’s rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K—key nutrients for healthy, well-supported skin.

My balms are anhydrous (water-free), so they don’t add moisture—they seal it in. I blend my tallow with locally sourced, unbleached beeswax to help lock in hydration and protect the skin. For best results, apply to damp skin after washing.
